Other Ways to Give
There Are Many Ways to Make a Difference.
Supporting National MSA Research doesn’t always mean making a donation online.
There are many ways individuals, families, businesses and community groups can help raise awareness of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) and contribute towards our charitable mission.
Whether you prefer to arrange a bank transfer, organise a fundraiser, support an event or explore a longer-term charitable commitment, your generosity is valued.
Every contribution helps build a stronger community around the fight against Multiple System Atrophy.
Choose a Way to Give That Suits You
We understand that everyone has different circumstances and preferences when it comes to charitable giving.
Some supporters prefer a one-off contribution, while others choose regular donations or community fundraising.
Businesses may be interested in sponsorship, workplace giving or charitable partnerships.
We welcome enquiries about appropriate giving arrangements and are grateful for the many ways people choose to support our organisation.
Bank Transfer Donations
If you prefer to make a donation directly from your bank account, National MSA Research welcomes enquiries about bank transfer arrangements.
Bank transfers may be suitable for individuals, families, businesses or community groups wishing to make a charitable contribution.
To obtain the correct payment instructions, please contact National MSA Research before transferring funds.
When making a donation, it is important to include an appropriate reference so your contribution can be identified and recorded accurately.
If you wish to donate towards a particular approved Legacy Fund or campaign, please confirm the relevant details with us before making the transfer.
For security, always verify banking details through an official National MSA Research contact channel before transferring funds.
Giving at Fundraising Events
National MSA Research organises and participates in fundraising events that bring people together to support our mission.
Depending on the event, opportunities to contribute may include approved donation collections, fundraising activities or other charitable initiatives.
Not every payment made at an event is a charitable donation.
Payments for tickets, raffle entries, auction purchases or goods and services may be treated differently from voluntary gifts.
Please refer to the relevant event information for available payment options and donation arrangements.
Community Fundraising
You can support National MSA Research by organising an approved fundraising activity within your community.
Community fundraising can be a meaningful way to bring people together, raise awareness and contribute towards a shared cause.
Ideas may include:
- Morning teas and community gatherings.
- Trivia nights and social events.
- Personal fundraising challenges.
- Birthday or anniversary fundraisers.
- Workplace fundraising activities.
- Community sporting events.
- School or group fundraising initiatives, where appropriate.
If you are planning to fundraise on behalf of National MSA Research, please contact us before promoting your activity.
Depending on the circumstances, fundraising approval and compliance with applicable requirements may be necessary.
Corporate Giving and Sponsorship
Businesses can make a meaningful contribution through charitable donations, sponsorship arrangements and approved partnerships.
Corporate support may involve fundraising event sponsorship, community awareness initiatives, financial contributions or other agreed forms of assistance.
National MSA Research welcomes enquiries from businesses interested in supporting our charitable mission.
Sponsorship arrangements may involve benefits provided in return, which can affect their taxation treatment.
Donations of Goods or Services
Some supporters may prefer to contribute goods, professional expertise or services rather than money.
Depending on our operational needs, these contributions may be considered for fundraising events or other approved organisational activities.
Examples might include event prizes, suitable equipment, printing, professional services or other practical assistance.
Please contact us before purchasing, delivering or arranging a non-cash contribution.
National MSA Research may be unable to accept certain items or services due to suitability, storage, safety, administrative or legal considerations.
Non-cash contributions are not automatically tax deductible.
Workplace Giving
Employees may be able to support National MSA Research through workplace giving arrangements offered by their employer.
These arrangements may involve voluntary payroll donations or employer-matched contributions.
Businesses can also encourage community involvement through approved staff fundraising activities.
If your workplace is interested in supporting our mission, we welcome your enquiry.
Container Refund Donations
Eligible drink containers returned through participating container refund schemes can provide another way to support charitable organisations.
National MSA Research is listed as a donation partner in Tasmania’s Recycle Rewards scheme under the campaign name Help Fight MSA.
Container refund arrangements in other states should be confirmed before directing donations.
Our Container Refund Donations page provides further information.
Gifts in Memory and Legacy Funds
Making a gift in memory of someone special can be a meaningful way to honour their life while supporting our charitable objectives.
National MSA Research also provides opportunities to enquire about establishing dedicated Legacy Funds.
These funds allow families and supporters to recognise individuals through approved tribute pages and ongoing charitable contributions.
You can learn more through our Donate in Memory and Legacy Fund pages.
Gifts in Wills
Some supporters choose to consider a charitable gift as part of their estate planning.
A gift in your Will can provide an opportunity to support National MSA Research’s long-term mission.
This is a personal decision, and we recommend obtaining independent legal advice before making or changing your Will.
Our Gifts in Wills page provides further general information.
Donating Towards a Particular Fund or Campaign
If you would like your donation to be associated with an approved Legacy Fund or fundraising campaign, please ensure the intended allocation is identified before payment.
National MSA Research records donations in accordance with applicable financial arrangements and donor restrictions.
Where a contribution is accepted for a specific purpose, its use is subject to the relevant conditions and charitable requirements.
Please contact us if you need assistance confirming how to designate a contribution.
Tax-Deductible Donations
Rare Neurological Disease Research Ltd, trading as National MSA Research, is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR).
Eligible charitable gifts of $2 or more may be tax deductible under Australian taxation law.
Not every payment to a charity qualifies as a tax-deductible gift.
The taxation treatment depends on the nature of the contribution and any benefits received in return.
Please seek independent taxation advice if you are uncertain about your circumstances.
Donation Receipts
National MSA Research aims to issue appropriate receipts for eligible charitable donations.
If you make a donation through a method that does not automatically generate a receipt, please contact our organisation with the relevant transaction details.
Please avoid sending sensitive banking information or payment card details by email.
Thank You for Supporting Our Mission
National MSA Research was established to raise awareness of Multiple System Atrophy and support the long-term advancement of scientific research.
We recognise that progress requires the collective efforts of researchers, healthcare professionals, donors, volunteers, businesses and community supporters.
Whether you contribute financially, volunteer your time, help organise an event or encourage others to learn about MSA, your support is appreciated.
There is no single way to make a difference. Every contribution matters.
