MSA Hub

Connecting the MSA community through information, understanding and shared experiences.

Living with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) can sometimes feel isolating.

For people diagnosed with MSA, their families and carers, connecting with others who understand the challenges of this rare neurological condition can be incredibly valuable.

National MSA Research is developing MSA Hub Australia, a dedicated online community initiative designed to help bring people affected by MSA together.

Our vision is to create a welcoming digital space where individuals can connect, share experiences, access information and feel part of a wider community.

What Is MSA Hub?

MSA Hub is a planned online community platform associated with National MSA Research.

It aims to complement the information and resources available through our public website by creating opportunities for greater community connection and interaction.

Rather than simply providing information to read, MSA Hub is intended to encourage participation, conversation and shared learning.

The platform is currently in development, and its features and access arrangements will be confirmed before public launch.

Who Is MSA Hub For?

MSA Hub is being developed with the broader MSA community in mind.

This includes:

  • People living with Multiple System Atrophy.
  • Family members and carers.
  • People supporting a loved one with MSA.
  • Individuals seeking to understand the experiences of others affected by MSA.
  • Approved community contributors and relevant professionals.

Our aim is to build an inclusive and respectful environment where people can engage at a level that feels comfortable for them.

What We Hope to Offer

Community Connections

Opportunities for individuals and families affected by MSA to connect, share experiences and support one another.

Group Discussions

Dedicated community discussion areas where participants may be able to exchange information, ask general questions and learn from shared experiences.

Educational Sessions

Opportunities to participate in online presentations, educational discussions and information sessions, subject to availability.

Research & Awareness Updates

Access to appropriate information about MSA awareness activities, relevant research developments and publicly announced initiatives.

Community Events

Information about opportunities for members of the MSA community to connect through online or in-person activities.

Helpful Resources

Access to selected educational materials, public resources and information about appropriate support services.

These are planned areas of development and may change as MSA Hub progresses towards launch.

A Respectful and Supportive Community

We recognise that conversations about MSA can involve personal and sensitive experiences.

Our intention is to establish appropriate community guidelines and moderation arrangements before launching MSA Hub.

Participants will be encouraged to communicate respectfully, protect each other’s privacy and recognise that every person’s experience with MSA is different.

Community discussions should not be treated as a replacement for professional medical advice.

Medical Information & Safety

MSA Hub is not intended to operate as a medical advice, treatment or emergency support service.

Information shared by community participants may reflect personal experiences rather than established medical evidence.

Members should consult appropriately qualified healthcare professionals about diagnosis, symptoms, medication and treatment decisions.

Participants should also avoid publicly sharing confidential medical records or other sensitive personal information.

Privacy & Community Participation

Protecting the privacy of community members will be an important consideration in the development of MSA Hub.

Before launch, National MSA Research intends to establish clear participation arrangements, community guidelines and information about how personal information will be handled.

Access may involve registration or other approved participation arrangements.

Further details will be provided when the platform is ready.

When Will MSA Hub Be Available?

MSA Hub Australia is currently being developed.

We are working towards establishing a community platform that is practical, accessible and appropriate for people affected by Multiple System Atrophy.

A public launch date has not yet been confirmed.

Information about availability, registration and participation will be published when the platform is ready.
