Gala Events

An Evening of Celebration. A Community United. A Future of Hope.

At National MSA Research, our gala events bring people together for a meaningful purpose: raising awareness of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) and supporting our charitable mission.

These special occasions provide an opportunity to celebrate generosity, recognise our supporters and share the importance of scientific research into this rare neurological condition.

From memorable entertainment and fundraising activities to opportunities for connection and reflection, our gala evenings are designed to inspire a community united by a shared cause.

More Than Just a Gala

A National MSA Research gala is about more than an evening of celebration.

It is an opportunity to shine a light on Multiple System Atrophy and the challenges experienced by people living with the condition and those who care for them.

MSA is a rare, progressive neurological disorder that can affect movement, coordination, speech, swallowing and important automatic bodily functions.

There is currently no cure.

Through our fundraising events, we aim to encourage greater understanding, strengthen community support and contribute towards our long-term charitable objectives.

Our Inaugural MSA Royal Gala — 2025

A Special Evening Marking an Important Chapter in Our Story.

On Saturday, 20 September 2025, National MSA Research held its inaugural MSA Royal Gala at Chateau Wyuna in Mount Evelyn, Victoria.

The gala marked an important milestone for our newly established charity.

The event was developed to introduce our organisation, share our mission and bring together people who wanted to make a difference for those affected by Multiple System Atrophy.

The evening’s program featured dining, entertainment, MSA awareness presentations and fundraising opportunities.

It also provided an occasion to recognise the generosity of supporters and the dedication of those who helped bring the event to life.

We are grateful to everyone who contributed to this significant chapter in our organisation’s journey.

Inspired by Adrian’s Story

National MSA Research was established on 2 October 2024 following the loss of Adrian Klep to Multiple System Atrophy.

Adrian passed away on 9 September 2024.

His family’s experience highlighted the need for greater awareness of MSA and stronger efforts to advance scientific understanding of the condition.

The MSA Royal Gala was developed as part of the organisation’s mission to bring people together, share Adrian’s story and encourage others to learn about MSA.

His memory continues to inspire our determination to work towards a future of greater understanding, better treatments and ultimately a cure.

What to Expect at Our Gala Events

Each National MSA Research gala may have its own theme, venue and program.

Depending on the event, guests may enjoy:

  • A formal or themed evening.
  • Dining and hospitality.
  • Live entertainment and music.
  • Guest speakers and presentations.
  • Information about Multiple System Atrophy.
  • Raffles, auctions or other fundraising activities.
  • Opportunities to meet supporters and community members.
  • Recognition of sponsors, volunteers and contributors.

Specific activities and inclusions will be confirmed in the official announcement for each event.

Bringing Awareness to the Forefront

An important purpose of our gala events is to encourage conversations about Multiple System Atrophy.

Many people are unfamiliar with the condition until someone close to them receives a diagnosis.

Through appropriate presentations, educational information and personal stories, we hope to help guests understand why greater awareness and continued scientific research are so important.

Every person who learns about MSA has the opportunity to share that understanding with others.

Supporting Our Charitable Mission

Funds raised through gala events contribute towards the charitable objectives of National MSA Research.

Depending on the event and applicable arrangements, income may be generated through ticket sales, sponsorship, donations, auctions and other fundraising activities.

The costs associated with organising and delivering an event are accounted for separately.

We aim to report verified fundraising results accurately and distinguish between total income, event expenses and net proceeds.

Funds raised are not represented as having been awarded to research projects unless the relevant commitments have been formally approved.

Our Sponsors and Supporters

Gala events would not be possible without the generosity and involvement of individuals, businesses and community organisations.

Sponsors may contribute through financial support, event services, prize donations or other agreed arrangements.

Their involvement can help support event delivery and promote greater community awareness of MSA.

We value relationships built on shared purpose, transparency and mutual respect.

Approved sponsors will be recognised in accordance with their event-specific sponsorship arrangements.

Sponsorship Opportunities

National MSA Research welcomes enquiries from businesses interested in supporting future gala events.

Depending on the event, sponsorship packages may include different levels of recognition and participation.

Opportunities may include event sponsorship, entertainment support, prize contributions and other approved arrangements.

Businesses interested in becoming a sponsor are encouraged to contact us to discuss available opportunities.

Our Volunteers

Behind every successful fundraising event are dedicated people who contribute their time and skills.

Our volunteers may assist with event preparation, guest registration, fundraising activities, administration and behind-the-scenes coordination.

We recognise the valuable contribution volunteers make towards our organisation’s activities.
